Unlock Your Potential Through Further Studies

Unlock Your Potential Through Further Studies

According to the Global Gender Gap Report 2020, 88 percent of females and 91 percent of men globally had primary education in 2020. Women, on the other hand, had more tertiary education than men. In 2019, according to NSO statistics, 57% of those seeking tertiary education in Malta were women.

Despite societal pressures on women to start a family and stay at home, many women are delaying this and opting for further education to develop their skills and expertise and starting a career. Women who juggle a family and a career may think that taking up further studies is an impossible feat, but this needn’t be the case.

Speaking to Kim Dalli from IDEA Academy, she explains how it is entirely possible for women who have busy lives to still pursue their dreams and aspirations.

“Founded in 2005 as IDEA Leadership and Management Institute, IDEA Academy has since evolved into one of Malta’s leading higher education institutions accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority. We offer a selection of accredited, industry-led programmes in a wide variety of fields, from foundation programmes right up to master’s degrees”, she said.

Their mission is to provide quality, industry-driven education to adult students. In doing so, they adopt a student-centric, blended approach to learning with minimal disruption to one’s personal and professional life.

They have just launched their October/November intake of courses. Courses range from MQF 4 (A-level standard) up to MQF 7 (Master’s degrees). IDEA Academy are also currently in the process of developing their first doctorate (MQF 8).

Areas of study include:

  • Healthcare Management and Elderly Care
  • Management, HR, Project Management and Governance
  • Anti-Money Laundering & Compliance, Finance Management and Fintech
  • Computing, AI and Blockchain & Cryptocurrency
  • Construction Site Management and Quantity Surveying
  • Hospitality
  • Air Transport Management and Supply Chain Management & Logistics

Kim goes on to explain, “What makes IDEA Academy unique is that all our courses are fully homegrown and very much industry-driven. We are fully focused on adult education, and completely geared up to help adults study with minimal disruption to their professional and personal lives. Classes take place once (or, at the very maximum, twice) a week, in the evening. Students are given the choice of learning in-class or online.”

“Members of our Faculty and our lecturers are fully dedicated towards providing personalised, one-to-one support during every step of a student’s rewarding journey.”

Students who graduate from their courses are eligible to apply for the Get Qualified scheme, which gives them 70% of their course fees back. The Academy also provides further support through its flexible, interest-free payment plans.

IDEA Academy and Women for Women Foundation enjoy a strong relationship based on shared values around the empowering qualities of further education. They have generously stepped in on our request to support disadvantaged women in their educational pursuits. In 2021 IDEA Academy had also offered a full Master’s Scholarship worth €10,000 to a Women for Women Foundation nominee, making one woman’s dream come true.

IDEA Academy is ready to offer members of the Women for Women Group a free consultation. So if you’ve been thinking about advancing your career, are seeking a promotion or if you’re still a bit undecided as to what your next step should be, Kim Dalli and her team are ready to sit down with you, understand your background and aspirations, and guide you further, no strings attached!
