Justine Balzan Demajo
Justine Balzan Demajo – Art Restorer & Curator

Justine comes from a background in art conservation and cultural heritage, having spent five years studying and learning the discipline in Florence, Italy. However, she also works as a curator specialising in contemporary art exhibitions.

Since 2016, she’s collaborated with artists on exhibitions, installations, and fundraising events, which assisted with environmental and charitable causes. In 2018, she opened an intimate gallery space in Valletta, Studio 87, where she dedicates her time to showcasing local and international artists, providing a safe and engaging platform, particularly for emerging artists.

She currently sits on the NGO’s Friends of the Manoel and the Storm Petrel Foundation boards. Since 2021, Justine has also worked on archival exhibitions, including From Where I Stand, photography by the late Guido Stilon, Unseen and Unheard: Stories of Women Under Fire and is currently working on an exhibition focusing on Malta’s commercial history. Justine continues to strive to tell untold narratives whilst keeping the local artistic community in mind.
