Our mission is to empower women and girls through access to education, financial literacy, access to resources and the promotion of gender equality. To invest in women’s plans for a secure, independent and sustainable life.
Our Story
The Women for Women Foundation was founded as a result of the popular Facebook group Women for Women, which was set up in 2015 by Francesca Fenech Conti. Through this all female group many previously voiceless and marginalised women were given a voice and certain previously undiscussed issues were brought to light. Women came together to support one another; and a sense of community and belonging was built . The group now has over 45,000 female members and is the living proof that “when women support women, incredible things happen”.
In November 2019, a group of members from Women for Women got together to make this foundation a reality – a foundation which will cater specifically for the needs of girls, women, and their children. The Women for Women Foundation manages the Women for Women Social Fund, which supports women and their families through difficult times. We work hand in hand with experts in the fields of domestic violence, homelessness, education, employment and mental health to ensure the progression and independence of women in society.
Our Vision & Values
We believe in empowering women to take control of their lives, to be independent and have the resources to support themselves and their children. This is done by offering guidance, support and mentoring, as well as education and training resources to women from all walks of life. The Women for Women Social Fund will cater for the emergency needs of women who are on a path of self-development. Women and their children will be at the heart of this fund because research shows that single women with children have specific and differing needs to other socioeconomic groups. These difficulties can create additional often invisible obstacles in their path. We’re here to smooth out those wrinkles and enable women to access what they need to succeed in their plans.
We believe in empowering women by giving them the support they need in difficult times, to enable them to raise their children, in a safe and nurturing home environment, whilst they work on improving their circumstances. We can only do this by continuously working closely with other organisations, companies and benefactors.
We believe in the concept of “Paying it Forward” whereby we ask our beneficiaries who may not be able to repay the financial help we provide – to offer another kindness or act of help to another woman – hence creating a ripple effect of collaboration and reciprocity.
