Deborah’s Story

Deborah has had a traumatic childhood. She was brought up in care because both her parents had substance abuse problems. She suffers from severe anxiety and has been under psychiatric care since childhood. Deborah is a single mother, has a young child from a dysfunctional long-term relationship, and is also a cancer survivor.

Deborah is hard-working, intelligent, very motivated and a great mother to her child. She has managed to secure a safe and stable home for herself and her child and is completing a course that will guarantee her a career and a job. With the help and guidance of her social worker, we have helped her furnish her home and provided her with the equipment she needs for her and her child to continue their education. Deborah is managing against all odds and looking forward to graduating and starting work. She also looks forward to having some free time to volunteer with the Women for Women Foundation.
